An example of how Beat Street is already helping to make Fort Collins a destination for arts and culture is the "Streetmosphere" project, which will transform downtown Fort Collins into an outdoor performing arts center from May through September. Music, jugglers, magicians, theater troupes, comedians, dancers, storytellers, painters, and other unique artists, performers, and entertainers will be popping up all over the downtown area.

And the best part is, it's all free. From Friday through Sunday, performances by auditioned and paid artists will take place in multiple locations downtown, offering more than 3,000 experiences over a five-month period. Depending on location and pedestrian patterns, a regular schedule will be developed to reach specific and varied audiences. Fort Collins has been transformed by "Beat Street" into a highly attractive neighborhood for skilled performers and lovers of the creative and performing arts.

Another way Fort Collins is supporting the development of its culture is through Culture Cafes. Held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, these events bring together community professionals and the general public for informative and engaging presentations while enjoying food and drinks. The event, which does not require admission, consists of short talks by speakers organized around a theme or organization, followed by a question and answer session and a plenary discussion.
