1. Activate messages on your page
Your site can only accept and send messages if you have enabled Messenger.
To enable Messenger for your site, go to Messages under General Settings, then click Edit. Select the option to allow messages on your page, and click Save Changes.
If you notice that you are receiving more Facebook posts than you can handle, consider turning the feature off until you can assign more moderators. Another option is to use the 'Go' setting.
2. Configuring message settings
There are two settings you can customize for your Business Messenger Response Time and immediate responses. Go to Settings and then to Messages.
3. Display a response time
The average response time of your site (how long it takes to reply to a message) is displayed in the box "approximately" on the left side of your page. To set the response time for your site, go to Settings and Messages. Then click Automatically display the average response time of your message or select another option. (You will only see the response time if you visit your site at least once a week and respond to 90% or more of your messages).
4. Set up immediate responses and greetings
Not surprisingly, immediate responses are sent immediately when users send a new message to your site. You can use these messages, for example, to set expectations about how long it will take you to respond or to redirect visitors to a page on your site that answers frequently asked questions. You can even personalize the answer with the user's name.
5. Manage your response time
Fb now appears on your page - how quickly you respond to messages, whether it takes a few minutes, a few hours, or more than a day. If you want to encourage users to communicate with you through Facebook Messenger for business, shorter response time is obviously better.
